This 20-piece collection has been the highlight so far of my career as a photographer and artist. We opened on August the 13th and the response was amazing. Every piece seemed to really inspire those in attendance with 4-5 of the images as clear crowd favorites.
I stood there with butterflies in my stomach waiting for my visitors, having no idea who would actually show up. By the end of the night, over 60 of my family, friends, and fans would grace my new studio and provide me with enough encouragement to validate my direction. Big time.
20 pieces is a lot of work. I spent over 8 months shooting, editing, negotiating, planning, producing, printing, framing.... it was a labor of love. Each piece has a story of it's own - emotional tales of suicide attempts, a heartbreak in Paris, oversized cupcakes, a madman who seduces women by playing them like instruments, and intense love between beautiful couples that we captured so well. In the end, I was so proud of the work I had done with the help of 24 models and makeup artists. We created a collection that I believe will be talked about for years to come.
Above is a video that takes you through each piece, sequenced just as it is in my studio. But, it's an even greater experience to come and see the real pieces. At Gomez Fine Art Gallery, each piece has a caption written by me that weaves the artwork together to create a beautiful, sad story. The pieces are 12x18 prints on fine art linen paper, framed, signed, hand-numbered, and embossed with a seal of authenticity. Each work is a unique piece of art that I am certain will only appreciate in value with each collection I create.
Please give you feedback below and come see me at my gallery.
